Question : Team Dual NIC's using Intel Proset in Windows 2000 Server
We are trying to team dual Intel Pro/1000 MT network cards on a Windows 2000 server. Do I need to set identical IP addresses for each card. I had orignally set two static IP addresses on our internal network, but when I went to apply the team, the server lost connectivity to the network (even though the switch showed green light status). Intel's site doesn't really give a step by step in setting this up from a beginners perspective. I used the "Team Wizard" and it applied all of the changes fine. The end result just didn't work. Any ideas?

Hi slaroche, As Kidego said, it is 3 static IP addresses. 1 for each of the nic's (ie 192.168.0.5 and 192.168.0.6) and then the team is assigned a static IP address, ie 192.168.0.7. I'll check with him tomorrow how he set this up, but I assume that when you used the "Team Wizard", it assigned a ip address to the team. I had a quick look on Cisco's website and it appears that it is possible on their switches, I suggest you either have a look on their site (http://www.cisco.com) or post the model of your Cisco switch here and maybe someone here will know.
