Question : Printer Permissions Question
|
|
I have some Windows XP Home computers in a workgroup attached to the same network as a Windows 2003-based domain. One of the domain controllers is also a print server. Is there a way for me to allow the XP Home folks, who cannot log into the domain, to print to the printer on the domain controller? I've set the security on the Printer share to allow "Everyone" to print, but they still get access denied messages.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Answer : Printer Permissions Question

go to the client add remove printer wizard - tell it its a LOCAL (not a network one) printer, it will faff about looking for a local printer and fail, on the next screen change the port from LPT to the option at the bottom then click the drop down box and change it to TCP/IP enter the IP address of the printer and select the appropirate driver and away you go :)
