Question : Creating new VPN connection defaults to using internal dial up modem instead of network card

This is really puzzling. I reinstalled Windows to get rid of this problem but it is still there. I have in my laptop a dial up modem and network card. When I try to create a new vpn connection going through the wizard, it defaults it to modem instead of using Local Area Connection. Whats puzzling to me is I go thru exact same procedure on a different computer and it creates VPN connection using Local Area Connection. I also tried disabling internal modem so that it picks up Network card but no use.
Help guys! This is a weird one.
