Question : Router Problems
|
|
I'm using a WRV54G with the latest firmware. 2 Centrino Laptops and 1 Core Duo Laptop. 2 Workstations. All have latest Bios/Drivers. I use the Core Duo Thinkpad 99.999..% of the time. All the computers are given a dedicated IP outside the DHCP range. No computers have been scanned for viruses and malware.
The Problem: Most of the times when I'm downloading large files the router reboots completely. First I thought it was just happening when I was using torrents. So I posted here for help and somebody recommended opening ports 6681-6689 on the router and forward those ports to the Thinkpad. And so I did. But it still happens when I'm using Torrents, even http transfers off of firefox and IE, also when I download contents off of itunes. Also I can't get the computers to network together.
This is frustrating! Thanks in advance.

Try to reset your router to factory default setting.
You also need to check if your powersupply is working properly.
It seems like you have the latest firmware but check if there are any more firmware updates.
If all the above solution fail you need to replace your router.
