Question : WinXPPro Can Not Acvquire Network Address

Hi Experts !   I hope this is simple for you geniuses.  I have an XP Pro system which will not connect to my cable modem. It says  "Acquiring Network Address' for about a minute - Then says limited or no connection available.
My laptop (Win2k) has no problems.
This XP Pro system was formerly part of a business network.
Any ideas??

You know, if this were me, and you don't need to save any data off this (or apps) I would throw a new image on it anyway..  but again, that is just me..  :)
