Question : Trusted domain not appearing in "Microsoft Windows Network"
|
|
Here is my scenario and the steps I have taken so far.
I have 4 offices/domains in my company All the domain controllers have trusts to each other. WINS replication is also set up.
The trusts have been verified. The domains appear in my login box and show up in AD when I need to find an object.
My WINS replication is working becuase I can remove replication partners, stop the services, delete the databases, start the services and then replicate and see the other domains leave the "Microsoft Windows Network".
I initiated a WINS push from the domain that is not showing up on my network. I also initiated a pull on my domain from the domain I cannot see. My even log has no failed events for WINS. Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP is being used. I still have one domain that will not show up at this location. On all the other domain controllers at the other sites, all the domains are showing up.
I would like this to work because I am initiating a DFS topology between offices, and to create the link (without using a mapped drive on the server) I need to browse the network to get to the shares properly. I have been working on this a while. Perhaps I am missing a step in my troubleshooting. How about some help folks. Thanks
