Question : I need to enable remote control of my home PC from my work PC

At this point.....I will consider alternatives to RealVNC (which I have been using for a few months), with the following requirements:
1) Since my MSN PieceOfS*** DSL 1000 modem does not allow configuration, the alternative to RealVNC must (NUST) work around this limitation (not depend on port forwarding). I called MSN Broadband...their modem does not allow configuration in any way shape or form. 2) Ideal solution would be freeware. RealVNC has spoiled me. 3) I will consider $50 or under, I assume will have a 2 site license so I can connect home to work, work to home.
I have used PC Anywhere in the past at another company....and I suspect it would work....but would rather use freeware. What can I say...I'm CHEAP!!!!

Tom, if you can't configure the modem/router to open any inbound ports (as we covered in the other thread), then you will not be able to use anything. You must have an inbound port open Even web based solutions will require port 80 to be open. You can go from home to work with your present config, but not from work to home. You have no open ports. and the modem won't allow you to configure any open. you need to get either the Action Tec modem or the legacy CISCO 678 with the DMT firmware. I hope someone proves me wrong, but I don't think so
