Question : Problem accesing FTP site by DNS name.

Hi guys

My FTP site was working just fine, until last week or the week before. Now when I try from outside my network to access to ftp site by name I cannot and when I try by IP is all good. That tell me that the routes on the firewall are ok and is something related with DNS.

I check my public DBNS with brighthouse and I have a DNS record for FTP pointing to the right external IP address.

On my internal dns server I hace the ftp host poinbting to the right IP. Why is the world I cannor connect. I have try and try to find an answer but I dont see it, I even change the ftp site to another server with a differrnt Ip address.

Answer : Problem accesing FTP site by DNS name.

From inside your network most likely you are resolving again your DNS server to the private IP address of your server.

From outside your network you are using the public Internet to resolve the name and who knows what is happening out there.
