Question : Terminal Server - RDP Protocol
|
|
I have a Domain Controller with Terminal Server installed on it. I also have a separate Citrix Server with thin clients that connect via the ICA and RDP protocols. Yesterday, I did a Windows Update on all my servers, updating to SP4 as well as all the critical updates for protection.(KB835732; KB828741; KB837001; KB830352; Q828026) My Domain Server runs Windows 2000 Server SP4 and my Citrix Server runs Windows 2000 Server SP4 with Citrix MetaFrame XPe SP3.
Since the Windows Updates all thin clients using the RDP protocol cannot connect, and the event log gives an error Event ID 1004 "The Terminal Server cannot issue a client license." All clients connecting with ICA protocol work fine. This all started the precise moment I updated my Domain Controller, I have stopped and started the terminal licensing services, and checked all necessary settings.
Do you know of a solution, it not, how can I roll back to Service Pack 3, or the original settings.
Thanks
Johan

Answer : Terminal Server - RDP Protocol

simply rightclick the connection (in the context-menu you can activate/deactivate the protocol)
I don´t think the licensing-server and citrixserver has a communication-problem, because the ica-connection also requests a TSE-CAL.
