Question : Internet on wireless connection very slow

I have a linksys 802.11b wireless network set up at my home. I had a problem with the computer connected to the router so I had to reinstall windows and reinstall the router software. Ever since then, my computer that is connected wirelessly to the router has had an extremely slow internet connection. I also find that on the wireless computer if I try to use IEEE 802.1x authentication, the computer wont be able to connect to the network.

Try updating the firmware on the router... On another post, someone had a smiliar problem with a router where their connect was dropped or slow... Updating the routers firmware fixed that problem..

But also post back with the OS of the system and the model of the router.

Also remember 802.11 b is a short range protocol normally in the 2.4 GHZ range.

Make sure your not traveling very far trying to comminicate with the access point.
