Question : To cable with cat6 or cat5 - that is the question ...

Am seriously considering deploying a convergenced network at our firm running WIn NT (converting to W2K).. what should i cable to each drop .. CAT5 or CAT6 for voice and for data.

Both cables are very similar, CAT 5 is a standard cable used for most network connections.  CAT 6 comes in a stronger wrap for more durability and weathering.  CAT 5 is a good choice in an office environment and economical.  Use CAT 6 for exterior wiring (through conduet)and possibly between floors in the wiring closet where there might be a better chance of damaging the wire, the cost is a bit more for CAT 6.  the decision is yours.
