Question : mailbfr -p (purge) to delete emails marked for deletion?

I am using mailbfr for email backups on Xserver 10.5 and 10.4, does the -p option on mailbfr delete the emails marked for deletion? We use Outlook 2003  and most users hide the emails marked for deletion, hence they do not purge emails marked for deletion and this takes up a significant amount of disk space.
