I have now spent 3 hours with Microsoft Tech Support and 1 hour with my router manufacturer's support, trying to get this resolved. No luck. I'm hoping you can help.
(By the way, I'm a newbie, but am learning fast!)
Desktop: WinME, attached to router by cable Laptop: WinXP Home; with wireless network card Both connected to Linksys wireless/4 port router Both can connect to the internet
Neither machine can see each other as part of a LAN.
File sharing is enabled on all machines. Both machines are set to the same WorkGroup Primary Network Logon is Client for Microsoft Networks Both computers can ping each other.
The error I get when trying to see the desktop from the laptop is "Network Path Not Found". Or from the Desktop to the laptop: "Unable to Browse the Network... Windows is unable to gain access to the network. This may be for a number of reasons."
The router people had me install NetBeui. Microsoft had me disable BrowseMaster on the WindowsME machine.
I'm not sure whatever information might be necessary, but I'm sure I can provide it.
Thanks in advance. Rosemary
