Question : SBS 2003R2 Server Crash after applied 2003 Server SP2 Update
My SBS 2003 R2 Server froze after I apporved and scheduled the "2003 Server SP2 Update". This update was skipped, so it was applied out of order. I am using the SBS automated updates feature.
It seemed to update fine, then asked to reboot, before it shut down it took a few minutes to do 4 updates, which it completed. It did not restart. I pinged it from a workstation an hour later and it did not respond. This is a remote server so I do not know if it finished shutting down or if it cannot restart.
Should I have someone onstie just unplug and replug the server and see if it will boot up ok or should I just go for reversing the 2003 Server SP2 Patch?
Answer : SBS 2003R2 Server Crash after applied 2003 Server SP2 Update
Power cycle first as it may just be waiting fo an app to finish (hung on it)
