Question : Relay through Exchange with authentication
|
|
I am trying to configure SMTP settings in a software package to allow for sending emails through the program. Our mail environment is currently running on Exchange 2003 so I have enabled relaying for the local subnet.
I can only get the relay to work by unchecking SMTP authentication in the email client ( testing with Thurderbird or Outlook Express.) However, the program from which we need to send will not accept blank username/password fields when configuring the SMTP settings.
Is there a way to configure the Default SMTP Virtual Server to either accept a username/password or ignore them?
Thank you.
