Question : Bonding Wireless Adapters?
|
|
Ok, Here is an interesting question. Is it possible to bond multiple wireless network adapters in windows xp in order to increase the bandwidth available to the system? I have messed with it and cannot find a way to do this, but it should be possible.

From my belief, load balancing and trunking are different. While this might work for multiple simultaneous downloads, your issue is increasing bandwidth for large single file downloads. I dont think this will do it.
Trunking makes 2 nics one virtual nic and hence, windows only thinks there is one adapter with twice the speed. Load balancing keeps the two nics separate, but shares the load evenly between the two, however single downloads will still only traverse one nic.
This is where using two channels on one wireless nic can double your bandwidth. Windows only sees one nic, but with twice the bandwidth.
Hope this clarifies
