Question : Wireless hiccups... always disconnecting/reconnecting<wbr />
|
|
Here's the situation: I'm living in a house, my roommate has a Linksys g router and I have a Linksys g network adapter. Our Internet connection works fine, we can both connect to the Internet and everything. However, even when I have a good signal strength to the router, I'll be online for some time (it varies... sometimes I'll stay on for over an hour, sometimes 10 or 15 minutes), and then I'll suddenly disconnect (even with a good signal strength!). I'll be offline for like 5 seconds, then it'll reconnect again. Very annoying when trying to do things online!
Here are the things I've tried so far that haven't worked: (I have Windows XP Pro) -In Windows Services, I hit "Stop" Wireless Zero Configuration -Tried to somehow put constant traffic or activity on the network... like constantly pinging the router (i.e. ping -t xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Ideas ???

Friend has this same problem, i changed his Channel on the linksys router from 5 to 11 and seems to have fixed the issue. The problem generally is your on full strength then all the sudden says no wireless networks available then a few seconds later it comes back up without problems. I would try changing channel around to 1, 3, or 11 and see if it fixes your problem.
