Question : Cisco config to allow teamed nics

we have had some cisco 3550 switches installed. we have a problem though when we try and use a servers with teamed nics the server comes up with an ip conflict. We  did not have this problem with our old equipment but these were just bog standard layer 2 switches.

the question is what do we have to change the cisco OS to allow the teamed cards to work.

Answer : Cisco config to allow teamed nics

You should have a WEB interface on your cisco 3550.

It may be easier to configure teaming through web interface.
goto http://{switch ip}
logon
then....
You just expand the SWITCH>LAG menu...and specify which ports are on which Link Aggregate.
Then you can assign a description for each number....like "server one", "server two", "uplink to 2350"

Also, your adapters on the servers have different teaming modes. Make sure you are using a cisco compatible mode...it should say in the descriptions.
And make sure your NIC management software (e.g. Broadcom) is up to date....
