Question : What SCSI Card to Use with HP ML350 G5 and Netware 6.5
I have an HP ML350 G5 Server with a HP Ultrium 448 backup drive. The SCSI card that I purchased which is a LSI Logic Ultra 320 card is causing loads of problems I am going to replace the card. Does anyone know which is the best card to use for running the backup drive on Netware 6.5 SP6
Answer : What SCSI Card to Use with HP ML350 G5 and Netware 6.5
I would go for an Adaptec card myself. In my experience, Adaptec has had the best NetWare support.
However, that kinda depends on a few other things.
1) What slot is available, PCI-X or PCI-Express 4x?
2) You have an HP server and an HP tape drive, why not an "official" HP HBA?
HP HBA's to consider: SC11Xe (PCI-Express) or Single-Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA (PCI-X)
If you go with Adaptec, I don't know if they have a PCI-Express option, but for PCI-X (64/133) look for a 29320A. (the A-R has RAID, which you wouldn't need...)
