Question : Reimage a Cisco 7940 phone
Hello,
I am relatively new to Cisco phones and unfortunately came across a problem with the one I have been using happily for some time.
Following the post below I have been looking into trying to reimage my phone :

I have installed an TFTP server onto one of my computers on the network (TFTPD32). However I feel that I need to do something additional with the phone to ensure the two can talk to each other. This is confirmed I think by the fact that nothing appears in the log files of the TFTP server when the 7940 boots up.
Is it the case that each time a Cisco phone boots up it will search for its TFTP server ?
I dont have the firmware files for the phone yet (working on that) however I wanted to check to see how I can get the two talking to each other so when I have the right files it will be easy.
As my phone wont boot up I cannot check the settings of the phone. I have done a factory reset on the phone. What can I do to ensure the two talk to each other ?
Any help available would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
