Question : xp home map network drive guest account

i recently got a lap top and a wireless router. my notebook has xp home on it and my desktop has xp pro. I want to map my desktop's d drive to the lap top but when i try to do this i get a login prompt with the username set to guest and grayed out. I can't seem to change this no matter what i do. How do i get around this? Is there something i'm missing?
