Question : problem connecting via remote desktop to a 2003 server.

Problem: I try to connect to a win 2003 server (Standard edition) via remote desktop. However i get the message: "You do not have access to logon to this session". This message pops up for all accounts, including the administrator one. I used to be able to work remotly at the machine a while ago, but something has changed to make this message appear now.
I have tried going trough all the tips already listed but have not found anything solving the problem. In short i have: - Checked that System Properties > remote: Options "Allow users to connect remotly" is ON. - Option "Turn on remote assistance" also set to ON (hey im desperate...)
Since i would be happy connecting ANY user right now, i want to give administrator privilegies to connect. So settings in "computer management > Local users and groups" are configured: - Added administrator to "Remote desktop users"(group)
I have tried various configurations at the connection property for the terminal services configuration. Connection is currently set to: - "Use client based logon" and both "administrator" and "remote desktop users" (group) is added under the premissions tab.
So in theory this should work.... no? Can the error be the "terminal service lisence" options? When i open this dialog it says "no terminal service lisence available for the current domain or group". But i am very confused after reading over the material back and forth. I thought i could still log on with 1 admin client still? Please correct me if i am wrong.
Any help would be appreciated!

If you are getting that error message, your server is in application server mode. You need to switch it back to remote administration mode or setup a Windows 2003 License server. One of the improvements with TS Licensing is that the License server doesn't have to be on a DC anymore. I think MS did that so you could run a 2003 TS in a 2000 domain..
To switch back to remote admin mode, go to control panel/Add/Remove Programs. Switch to the Windows component tab. I think you can just click next and it will ask you which mode you want TS in, select remote admin.
