Question : Local Network Printer isn't available to Remote Desktop (RDP) Session
|
|
Hi there,
I'm having trouble making a local network printer available to a remote desktop session.
Here's the scenario:
Head Office: LAN containing a number of Win XP Pro SP2 clients, 1 Windows 2003 Server, 1 networked multi-function centre.
Remote Office: LAN containing a number of Win XP Pro SP2 clients, 1 networked multi-function centre.
Clients at Head Office, including the server, have no problem printing to the local multi-function centre.
Clients at Remote Office have no trouble printing to the local multi-function centre.
Clients at Remote Office CANNOT print to the local multi-function centre when connected using Remote Desktop Protocol to Head Office's Windows 2003 Server.
Things to know:
1 I've ticked "Printers" in the Local Resources tab-sheet in RDP. 2 I've added the multi-function printer's driver to the server. 3 I've added a 2nd printer on the client, pointing to the local multi-function centre but using a basic HP LaserJet IID driver. 4 I've added that driver to the server.
Any suggestions?
Thanks n Regs.
