Question : Network access shared folders not accessible but can ping server
I am on a network with several point to points to other locations. We have wireless access at all locations and network shares are accessible, except at one location. I can acess the internet and any shared folder on the server at that site. I can ping our other servers at other sites but cannot access their appropriate servers shared folders. All the locations have the same setup and wireless devices but the one location that has the issue connecting to the other sites has a tmobile cell phone tower. Could that tower be the issue or is there something on the server I cannot access outside shared folders that I can change or adjust.
Please help!!!
Answer : Network access shared folders not accessible but can ping server
If your "Shares" are windows (Samba) shares, then you need to have the ports 137, 138, 139, 389, 445 opened on the router / firewall.
