Question : Lynksys wirelss network card not connecting.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 running XP Home SP2. The wirelss network card doesn't connect at all. The card is a Lynksys Wireless-G Notebook adapter model#WPC54G.The power light is on and the conection light is flickering.Anyone have any solutions?

Defective equipment certainly does happen. Linksys is a decent manufacturer, so I wouldn't necessarily feel like you need to switch to a different brand. Others, though, would include D-Link and Netgear; personally, I'm not as big a fan of Belkin, in part because at least in the past, their tech support required a pay call, and I found it less than the best quality (though with all the companies, tech support can be a challenge at times).

Re. cordless phones: Yes, a 2.4 GHz cordless can interfere with the wireless signal. I personally use a 900 MHz phone instead for exactly that reason. Short of buying a different phone, if you run into interference problems (and they don't always happen), you can first try setting a different wireless channel on your router. There are 11 available, so you'll probably be able to find out that's clear, but it may take some testing.
