Question : SOA not updated for our AD
Hi Guys,
We changed our DNS SOA to another company and migrated our records across accordingly. Strange this here is, 4 days later, it seems the DNS and SOA records have been repopulated and doing an nslookup outside our AD is:
> set type=soa
> globalgossip.com
Server: 139.130.4.4
Address: 139.130.4.4#53
Non-authoritative answer:
globalgossip.com
origin = ns1.instradns.com
mail addr = root.instra.com
serial = 2009102601
refresh = 28800
retry = 7200
expire = 604800
minimum = 86400
HOWEVER, our headoffice we can not resolve to ANY of our external DNS records. When I do the same lookup I get....
Server: ausyd04.globalgossip.net
Address: 10.152.0.104
Non-authoritative answer:
globalgossip.com
primary name server = udns1.ultradns.net
responsible mail addr = domains.globalgossip.net
serial = 2009110601
refresh = 10800 (3 hours)
retry = 3600 (1 hour)
expire = 2419200 (28 days)
default TTL = 86400 (1 day)
udns1.ultradns.net internet address = 204.69.234.1
Ultradns was the one we migrated from....why is ONLY our site still looking up ultradns when everyone else is pointing to INSTRA?
Can someone help me out please? thanks
Answer : SOA not updated for our AD
Is that using Forwarders? If so, it could be getting the cached response from there, it will inherit TTLs from there.
