Question : Extend wireless range

Hi,

I need to extend wireless range for a WRT160N device. The device itself is connected to a separate DSL line that will provide internet guest access. My current corp network cannot be touched. The device itself is sitting in the network room and it does not have a port for an antenna so thats not an option.

I am thinking i can install a second WRT16N half way through to the dead spot i want connectivity available. Is there a way to configure the second device to hook up to the wireless network and just push out more range? Is that possible?

Answer : Extend wireless range

You do not have to flash the primary WRT160N. You can use the existing first-party firmware with it.

You would only have to flash the second WRT160N unit with DD-WRT that you want to use as the repeater bridge.

Basically, you would have

Originally:
<-------------WRT160N#1-------------->    (Dead spot)

Repeater Bridge Configuration:
<-------------WRT160N#1<=====>WRT160N#2------------->

Clients in between  the two units will be able to connect to either on
