Question : Lotus Notes "Set Bookmark as Home Page" does not function after upgrade from 6.5.1  to 8.0.2

Hi,
We are in the process of migrating from Lotus Notes 6.5.1 to 8.0.2 and everything is going well except we have run into an annoying problem with 3 users so far (I imagine this number will grow).
As the title of this question suggests, I am unable to use the 'Set Bookmark as Home Page" option.  I will run through is happening and what we have tried to fix so far:-

1)  The company involved have a Global Intranet database that is replicated around all of the Domino servers.  We normally just place a shortcut to this DB on the workspace, and also create a Bookmark, we would then right click on that bookmark and choose "Set Bookmark as Home Page".  Normally when you do this, you get a confirmation message stating, "Are you sure you want to replace the existing home page with Global Intranet".  With the 3 users in question when we right click the bookmark and choose "Set Bookmark as Home Page" nothing else happens (e.g. no confirmation message appears).
One other thing to let you know is that we are keeping the current 6.5.1 servers as application servers, and the users' mailfiles have been migrated to an 8.0.2 Domino cluster.  Currently about 600 users have been migrated, and these 3 users' are the only ones currently experiencing the problem.

I have done the following to try to fix:-
1)  Removed current Bookmarks.nsf and had a new one create when Notes starts
2)  Repeated step 1, but before doing so, replaced the bookmarks.ntf file from a working computer
3)  Deleted cache.ndk, bookmarks.nsf, desktop.ndk, names.nsf, cleared notes.ini to envoke the setup wizard and setup notes from scratch.  Obviously if this had of worked it would not have been ideal as we would have lost all of the user's customized settings.....it didn't work anyway
4)  In windows security, ensured that the users have Full Control right to the c:\Program Files\Lotus directory (and also all files and folders underneath this directory)
5)  Recreated the user's windows profile (in case the problem lied within the HKEY_Current_User reg hive)
6)  Checked that the location document is correctly setup in all cases
7)  The users are all listed as the mailfile owner.
8)  All users have editor ACL's to their mailfiles normally, I have tried granting the users manager ACL's

It's possible that I have forgotten some of the troubleshooting steps, but these are the main ones I can think of.

Has anyone come across this issue before?

Answer : Lotus Notes "Set Bookmark as Home Page" does not function after upgrade from 6.5.1  to 8.0.2

Hi,

Haven't found what the Root Cause of this problem is, however I have found a workaround:-

1)  Shut down Notes completely
2)  Navigate to c:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes
3)  Run nlnotes.exe to start the light client
4)  Set your bookmark as homepage in this client, then exit
5)  Start Notes in the normal manner

It's worked on every machine I have ran the fix on.  The only think I have not tested (and I doubt I will do so anyway) is to see if this is actually a permenent fix or not.  I'd be interested to see if it works for you as well ndaco
