Question : Cannot ping clients with DHCP addres, but can ping clients with DHCP reservation
Hello.
I have a odd problem.
The clients getting their IP addresses from the DHCP server cannot be pinged.
Cannot ping name, fqdn or ip. (this also regards RDP and pstools)
However, the clients getting their reserved IP addresses from the DHCP server can be pinged.
All the clients do work, can connect to internet and servers without any problems.
There is nothing configured in GPO to stop ping or have any firewall's enabled. I did think that this was a Firewall issue of some sort, but when the clients that have their reserved IP addresses from the DHCP server CAN be pinged, I am getting a bit confused.
2003 Domain, XP SP2 clients and everything is functioning as it should except no ping, rdp or pstools usage is possible to the DHCP clients without reservations.
This is quite annoying as this is on a vessel and therefor a bit hard to support them :)

Hi there,
is it possible, that the DHCP - IP area has some firewall rules activated on your central router/firewall and
the fixed IP area has no/different rules?
