Question : Class A subnetting Question

We are currently using the address block of 10.16.48.0 /23 on our local network. Unfortunately for us we are now out of address and we need to re-subnet our network. Is it possible to use a new block starting at 10.16.46.1 /22? I used an online subnet calculator and it said that i had to start at 10.16.44.0 and end at 10.16.47.255 in order to use the 10.16.46.0 range. It would be best for me if i could use a new range that would encompass the 10.16.48.0 and 10.16.49.0 numbers as we have nearly 150 networked printers and numerous switches and servers.

Also, we can't use any IP's higher that 10.16.49.255 because we have an IP phone system that uses 10.16.50.1 and up.

Thanks

Answer : Class A subnetting Question

You're right. I typed that too fast. 10.16.46.0/22 will give you addresses 10.16.46.1-10.16.49.255
