Question : Proper extension for an RFC2822 email

Hi, expert,

I take an MBOX, extract individual emails out of it, and save them in separate files. What extension should I give them? I could do *.txt, and they can be open by anybody, but *.txt is not descriptive enough.

Is there anything that will open in the proper email client?

Use .eml for individual emails.
