Question : upgraded to Outlook 2007 now cannot connect to pop3

Hello - I am running Windows XP, we upgraded office from 2003 to 2007.  Now Outlook will not work - i keep getting the error that outlook cannot connect to your incoming (pop3) server.

These settings were working in outlook 2003, i tried disabling the firewall, the service provider is working a we run this same provider on other computers and there are no problems.

I appreciate any help.  I am an intermediate user so please be gentle.  Thanks. :)

Answer : upgraded to Outlook 2007 now cannot connect to pop3

I have had similar problems occur 3 or 4 times on both Outlook 2003 and 2007, even when upgrades were not involved. Somehow the settings in an email account will become corrupt in Outlook, and even if you check every value/name/port/encryption setting they will seem to be correct, yet you get an error. In cases like that I copy down (or printscreen) a working setup (including all the "more settings" screens), then delete the email account that is not working, and completely recreate it from scratch. That has solved the problem each time.
