If you are referring to machines that do not allow remote desktop (XP) then you can simply change a registry key.  Assuming the your user account has administrative access and this is a domain environment.  Open registry editor and connect to the registy of the other computer from the file menu.  Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Terminal Server and set the fDenyTSConnections to 0.
