Question : wireless network
Experts,
I am trying to setup wireless connection from a PC to security DVR system each locates in separated buildings. Because two building has a little distance, I am going to use Linksys WRT54G wireless router, WRE54G range expander and WAP54G access point to achieve the wireless connection to Ethernet port on DVR system. Here is my Idea:
wired wireless
(Modem) ---------> (WRT54G) ))))))))))))))) (WRE54G) ))))))))))))) (WAP54G) -----> DVR system

(PC)
From PC, I am using router to send out wireless signal and WRE54G to expand range and finally using WAP54G to receive wireless signal and connect to DVR with wired connection.
wireless security using WEP 128 bit encryption with same SSID and channel for all devices.
My question is:
1. Which mod should I be using on the WAP54G? Access point, repeater, client or bridge mode?
2. Should I be using range expander after AP or it doesn't matter?
3. Is this a good concept and design? what will you do differently to achieve log wireless range and convert it into wired connection?
Please let me know if you need more info and thank you in advance.
Answer : wireless network
the WAP54G needs to be in Client-Mode
Use Range extemder if WAP54G is unable to get signal of the WRT.
Design is ok...same used here ;-)
