Question : siptapi asterisk

Using SIPTAPI to connect Asterisk (trixbox CE)
After clicking to dial through my application my phone rings but it never connects to the intended party.
Checking asterisk it doesnt look like it's attempting to.
There are not much instructions on setting up SIPTAPI but my assumption was that if it will ring my phone then its job is done.
I am using SIPTAPI instead of AstTapi (which I have on other boxes) because it has 64bit support.
Any ideas on what else needs to happen to make it tell TB to connect to the intended number.
Or even better, anybody got a 64bit workaround for AstTapi?
