Greetings,
I have the following setup:
2 dsl lines on verizon 1 24 port ethernet switch 1 2003 server, file server 10 computers connected to switch
Currently we have 4 computers utilizing one of the dsl routers. The switch is plugged into the second older router. I'm about to configure both routers to have different IP address ranges as I need to bridge the two clusters but would like to tackle load balancing at the same time. I've looked at a D-Link DI-LB604 and the options look good if the reviews are correct, but there must be some other way. Considering we have a 2003 server which isn't doing much other than serve files, and the load isn't that great either, is there some cheaper way of getting this network to use the single 24 port switch, and "load-balance" between the 2 routers? Purchasing a couple of ethernet cards to install on the server sounds much cheaper than purchasing a special load balancing router. The main thing is to make our internet access more reliable, and faster. Thanks for the input.
