Question : TCP/IP not configured to use adapter

Hi ,

I have a WIN NT 4.0( SP 6) server machine with D-link DFE 538TX 10/100 adapter connected to workgroup. Since yesterday , I haven't been able to us the network and when I check under network setting->protocols->TCP/IP properties , gives me message that "bad or invalid parameters passed to open service call". On clicking on ignore, I get another message saying that 'TCP/IP is not configured to use any adapter'. I have checked the adapter and it seems to be functioning properly. Pinging my ip adrress gives me message 'Unable to contact IP driver, error code 2'. Can some one help me on this asap.

Rgds,
Ranjeet

Answer : TCP/IP not configured to use adapter

Your tcp register settings are proably corrupt, which is why the system freezes when you try to uninstall TCP/IP.

You could either removing all networking components, reinstalling NT or try the steps outlined in MSKB article Q151237.
