Question : Unable to get to a specific website address

I am unable to get to a specific website. The web site url is http://www.thewilsonfamily.net. I can get to the website from work, but not from home. At home I have Comcast cable.  How can I troubleshoot this issue and fix it so I can view the website. I'm running Windows XP.

If all this good advice you were given fails to come up with any answers you should check your ISP's DNS servers.

Start > Run and type CMD

type ipconfig /all and grab the DNS server IP addresses.


Then at a command line do this:

type nslookup and hit enter

You will be at a prompt that looks like this:

type server and hit enter
then type the IP address of your first DNS server and hit enter


now type the thewilsonfamily.net and hit enter.  See if it resolves it to an IP address,

If it does not give you the IP address for the site then there is something wrong with the DNS servers, not your machine.

What ISP are you using?
