Question : Wireless connection issue

Wireless connection issue

I have 2 laptops that I am trying to connect to the wireless network.
we have an AP, and usually when there is a guest to the company we just plug their laptop, add wireless connection by typing the SSID, Security type, encryption, and security key.

I have type the same settings on both laptops. But one of the laptops keeps showing "Acquiring network address" for a while then it goes to Disconnected. The signal shows "very good".but it still can't connect to the wireless network as the other laptop.
I checked the encryption and SSID and the security key and retyped them just to make sure i haven't made a mistake, I also checked the firewall that 's off, but still unable to connect.

on the event log/system it shows the log about DHCP, it's saying that the computer will try to get an ip address.

Any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Answer : Wireless connection issue

Ok first check on your wireless card from the machine that doesn't connect if the wireless channel is on auto, then you must check on the security zone of your wireless card. WPA and WEP types have more than one subtype of encryption: WEP can be open or shared key, wpa can also be more than one. Carefully check the advanced settings or properties of the Wireless adapter. If this doesn't work either try to assign manual adress : IP,Gateway,DNS according to the IP class that your AP has.
