Hello All,
I am having a time trying to access network folders on my network. The computers involved are: a desktop (where dsl is connected- hardwired), and 2 laptops. All 3 are running Win XP Pro. I think the problem started when I traveled with my laptop to a hotel and used the Wifi there. For some reason now, it has never been the same since. When I called the router company (Belkin) they said it sounds like the TCP/Ip has been corrupted and I should reinstall it. When I called the wireless card company (D-Link) they said the same thing. I did reinstall it and still nothing.
Even now, to get internet access, I boot up and right click the icon in the icon tray go to Open Network Connections, then I right click and go to the properties on the Wireless Connection icon, and go to "Wireless Connections" and unclick the box that says, Use Windows to configure my settings" then click it again, because unless I do that I cant get internet access. As for network access, I think I have tried everything.
All 3 computers are running Win XP Pro, and there is no firewall box check on any machine. The thing that confuses me is that the printer is connected to the desktop. Mine and the other laptop access the internet through the same wireless access point (linksys). The other laptop can print there and I cant.
Can anyone help with this problem?
