Question : Wireless: Still Connected but no data being transmitted

We have 14 HP Procurve 420 wireless access points to cover our site. I have got them configured to use WPA2-AES using Windows 2008 NPS as a radius server, and all of the Windows XP clients are then configured using Group Policy.

The clients can connect to the network when they are in range, and are being authenticated correctly (no errors is NPS Log Files). However, after a random period of time, the client will still show that it is connected to the network, but not be able to transfer any data. If I run Repair on the connection, it will be established again and will work for a bit longer, but will later drop out again. Sometimes you can never actually get to send or recieve any data. The packet counters do not increment at all when this happens.

Configuration of the various components:

HP Procurve 420
- 11g only
- WPA2-AES
- Auto Channel Select
- Pre-authentication is On
- IAPP is On

I have a feeling that the problem may be to do with chanel settings and interference. I'm not sure how I should be configuring these. I have read in some places that all the AP's should be set to the same channel, and in other places that they should be separated by a certain number of channels (e.6 chans 1, 6 and 11) and others that it doesn't matter.

Anyone have any ideas? It is getting quite frustrating now!

If you think its due to interference then channel should not be same,suppose if your signals are overlapping then if it has same channels interference will be there so which ever access points signals overlapping change there channles ex: make them 1,6 and 11 because these are not overlapping channels.. channels are nothing but frequency ,interference comes when two devices has same frequency. I hope this gives you better understanding on channels. But your problem may be something else is it happening in any particular area or all over your site.
