Question : DNS cache flush
Hello everyone:
I am having a strange problem and wanted to get some expert advice. In the past I used to host my website internally but in the last month we have moved our website offsite for security, maintenance and for database functionality. When I took over this network the other individual had hosted his own DNS servers in house as well, I have also gotten rid of them and am now using my ISP's DNS servers. All is fine and smooth except on occasion one or two workstations will continue to go to the old dns entry for the website isntead of the new dns entry. Meaning: they type in the url one time and the site comes up fine at the ISP, just like the rest of the world would see it. Then the next time they get a directory structure of what used to be my old hosting directory on my server. I have shutdown apache and FTP services but this does not help. What does help most of the time is releasing the DHCP assigned addy and renewing it to get new information. My MAC's have proved more stuborn and don't always play well. What do I need to do for a more permanent solution? Flush the DHCP cache, IP cache on the server?
Thank you so much in advance, I really appreciate it..

Answer : DNS cache flush
You can also add to your startup ipconfig /flushdns to take care of that on the Workstations.
