Question : NT 4 Account Policy
I am looking to implement an Account Policy on our NT 4 servers for password restrictions and account lockouts.
I am going to use the 'Account Policy' that is under 'User Manager for Domains'
Attached is what I am going to implement!
The question I have is, if I put in Password expiry, and account lockout... does this affect the Administrator account???
If so how do I stop this from happening as we cannot have this password changing ever!! unless we do it manually.
Answer : NT 4 Account Policy
By default, the password policy applies to all accounts.
You need to open the properties of the account(s) for which you don't want the policy to apply, and check the "Password never expires" option; this setting will override the policy.
