Question : Problems connecting SMB Client to 2K3 Server

I'm trying to connect a linux box to a freshly installed Windows 2003 Server. I shared a drive. From my XP workstations I have no problems. If I try to connect from linux I see this:

root@misterhouse:/usr/local/samba/lib# smbclient -L video -U michel
added interface ip=192.168.11.11 bcast=192.168.11.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Got a positive name query response from 192.168.11.2 ( 192.168.11.2 )
Password:
Domain=[SIOUX] OS=[Windows Server 2003 3790] Server=[Windows Server 2003 5.2]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

I do see a succesfull logon and logoff in the event viewer. But as you can see I get an Access Denied error. Can anyone help me?

Michel

Answer : Problems connecting SMB Client to 2K3 Server

Also check to see if SMB and CIFS access is properly configured. I'm not sure about linux and Samba, but when I worked in a Unix/NT environment(a while ago :o), and created resources to be shared across both platforms, I always had to create a CIFS share for that resource.

Does this help? Like I said, it's been a while. Just trying to pitch in.
