Question : Configuring Dual Nics on XP Pro

I have a system that has been connected through nic1 with a static ip (192.168.1.157), today i added a second nic to connect to a cash register that has an ip of 192.168.31.31.  Ever since adding the second nic I can no longer access the internet.  If I disable nic2 the internet works fine.  Any ideas on how to make the computer connect to the internet through nic1 and communicate with the cash register on nic2?  Thanks.

You need to make sure that NIC2 has an IP in the same range as the register and then REMOVE any default gateway from NIC2.

NIC1 will  have the Default gateway and all internet traffic will flow through it.
