OK... I have had this system for years and it has worked fine...

several of the computers I have been introducing a static IP to, while my router still has DHCP enabled, I just use IPs out of the DHCP range.
So I attempted to do it with this one comp (went to network connections TCP/IP thing and set it's IP addy and stuff)... and I also wanted to be able to shut down some services remotely.. so i ran gpedit.msc cuz i was gettin access denied thiing... and I modified the entry under "computer configurations > windows setttings > security settings> security option> network access:sharing and security for local accounts" so that it authenticates users as themselves... or some crap... cuz i read it on a message board to do it like that... I did both of these things simoultaneously... and now the internet doesn't work.. i set everything back to the way it was and it still doesn't work... WTF MATES?!?!
