Question : bind_socket fails
|
|
Hi everyone,
I'm using Remote Administrator 2.1 to access a server remotely. Since yesterday, I have not been able to access the server. I receive the following error
"Connection I/O error, connection may be closed due to IP Filter settings on the remote side"
I checked the logfile, and it says "bind_socket fails".
I don't exactly know how this is related, but yesterday the remote server got infected with a Trojan Horse (SUB0T.dll) via some IRC connection.
We removed the virus and reinstalled RAdmin, but I still get the same error. Can anyone advice us on this issue? This is a very pressing matter for us, and anyone's help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jazon from Jacksonville, FL

It looks like you are not removed the Trojan succesfully, while some components still using the same port like your RA . So some components are still active. Get CurrPorts from http://nirsoft.mirrorz.com and take a look what programs are in listen. Remove them from the active tasks or rescan more accurate your system ! Good luck !
