Question : Correct configuration for child domain DNS, to resolve local, external and host names on parent domain.

Have primary domain network.company.com.   Internal IP of DC with DNS is 10.0.1.5.  Looks to itself for DNS, then with external forwarders.  Have child domain child.network.company.com with (1) DC hosting DNS for local and external resolution.  Internal IP of DC in child domain is 10.0.2.2.  Looks to itself for DNS, had external forwarders.  Child domain is geographically separated from parent domain, but can connect to parent domain via VPN. I want to have both DCs exhange DNS information, for name resolution on either domain.  Best practices for accomplishing reciprocal DNS information is needed.  Not strong in DNS, so much help is needed.

Set up a conditional forwarder to your remote DNS server - see http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/DNS_Conditional_Forwarding_in_Windows_Server_2003.html
