Question : Workstation present but no access in Network Browser
I having problems with some win98 networked machines. They can connect to the network perfectly and use shared folders on the servers and other workstations (except the ones showing the same symptoms) and in net diag/ping tests communication between them seems fine. However when trying to access the computer via Network Neighbourhood to access shared resources it gives the message 'There are currently no logon servers to service the logon request' and does not allow access. Another symptom seems to be that it cannot get a list of users/groups to set access rights when sharing drives/printers. The network settings are identical to another computer which works fine, with client for windows,netbeui,tcp/ip,the correct driver and file and print sharing all present and set up correctly. Any ideas?

If you do have a domain controller, try to change from "User level" to "share level" and then back to "User level". It will read all the necessary files for the sharing and replace any that are possibly corrupt. That has solved that kind of problem for me.
