Question : Cannot install Linksys wireless-G notebook adapter on Windows 2000

I've just attempted to install a Linksys wireless-G adapter into my IBM Thinkpad 600X running Windows 2000, service pack 4. When I attempt to edit the link profile it always comes back and says, "Failed to change device configuration".
